SSL certificates renewed

The SSL certificate for the email service "smtp" was renewed today. All our SSL certificates are issued by CACert.

Reminder: PHP5

There are many reasons to upgrade to PHP5, some are mentioned here:

Email quota size raised to 50MB

All users who still had a quota restriction below 50 MB per email address can be happy: everyone now is entitled to 50 megabytes.

PHP5 available as of now

As of now, we provide PHP5 as a scripting language additionally to the currenty supported PHP4 language.
We are also kindly asking you to upgrade your website, as PHP4 security support is going to stop soon. See the official migration guide for more information.

Experimental dynamic dns service

For the more technical users amongst you, we now provide dynamic dns services for your own domains.
As it is not completely finalized yet, we don't offer an automated sign-up, but you can just drop us a note to get an account.
If you are interested, have a look at dyndns.majimoto.net.

Malfunction

Unfortunately, we had a technical glitch on July 10th between 7:20 pm and 9:00 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Email spam- and virus filtering activated

A central system for checking incoming email for viruses and spam was installed. Email messages that contain known viruses are deleted automatically, whereas spam is marked as such and passed through to you regular inbox. We will continue to work on optimizing this filtering system in the future.

Webmail update

We installed a new version of the webmail interface. Your experience should be unimpacted by it.

New Mail SSL certificates

Today, all our email-services providing SSL encryption received new certificates issued by CAcert.org

Maintenance work

Dear customers,
our provider will implement changes on our technical infrastructure during Wednesday, 12.07.2006, 23:00 Uhr until 13.07.2006. During this time, almost all our services will be unavailable. Emails will be delivered as usual. We apologize and hope you understand.

Backup server down

The backup server of majimoto.net was down during the day of 7th June 2006. The issue has been resolved by now.

Network connectivity issues at upstream provider

Our upstream provider, Hosteurope.de, had network connectivity issues this afternoon. Here is the original wording from their ticket system:
derzeit gibt es leider eine Netzwerkstörung, die fü die Nicht-Erreichbarkeit des Servers verantwortlich ist. Wir sind bereits dabei, das Problem zu lösen. Ein Problem mit Ihrem Server selbst ist derzeit nicht anzunehmen.
Bitte haben Sie Verständnis dafür, dass wir zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nichts Konkretes zu Ausfallursache und Dauer angeben können.

Hardware issues

This day during noon, we had some trouble with hardware issues. These issues have been resolved by now. We apologize for gthe inconvenience.

Maintenance work Oct 28th 2005 - Oct 29th 2005

Unfortunately our upstream provider is going to produce small network interuption during the mentioned days. Here is their original message:

Im Zeitraum von Freitag, 28.10.2005, 12:00 Uhr bis Samstag, 29.10.2005, 22:00 Uhr werden im Rechenzentrum interne Wartungsarbeiten durchgeführt.

Innerhalb dieses Zeitraums kann es zu mehreren kurzen Ausfällen Ihrer bei uns gehosteten Produkte kommen.

Jeder einzelne Ausfall sollte nicht länger als 60 Sekunden andauern - da allerdings mehrere zu erwarten sind, informieren wir Sie im Vorfeld bereits darüber.

Sollten Sie also im o.g. Zeitraum Ihr bei uns gehostetes Produkt nicht erreichen können, warten Sie bitte eine Zeitlang ab und versuchen es dann erneut, bevor Sie den Support kontaktieren, um eine Störung zu melden.

Diese Störung wird von unserem Rechenzentrums-Dienstleister verursacht und nicht durch Majimoto.net.
